This is Halfway to Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party

This is Halloween. In May. We know Disney likes to get a head start on things, especially holidays. Two of the busiest times of year in Walt Disney World are fall for Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party and Christmas for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This morning, Disney announced that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be returning in 2024 with lots of returning favorites and some not-so-spooky new surprises.

Boo to You Parade

This year’s party will run on select nights at Magic Kingdom starting Aug. 9 through Oct. 31. We are pleased to see they are not choosing to continue the Halloween festivities after October 31 this year. For guests at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green, tickets go on sale starting May 8. Tickets will be available to all guests starting May 15. If you are planning on attending an event this year, we recommend guests purchase tickets in advance as last year, nearly every party sold out in advance and Disney does not release additional tickets the day of if they sell out in advance.

Some of our favorite Mickey’s Not So Scary events include Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular which is one of our favorite fireworks shows. For all the 80’s babies out there, if you grew up with the Disney Channel, you might remember that every Halloween ABC would air a Disney special on Halloween night that included Disney’s Halloween Treat, an animated feature that was a spooky compilation of Disney scary stories and spookier tales. The music from this fireworks spectacular is from this show. We also get goosebumps every time we see the Boo-To-You Parade and it will always be one of our favorite soundtracks. We enjoy it so much, we always see it twice.

There is no right or wrong way to navigate the extra-ticketed event, but we recommend prioritizing the things that are not available during normal operating hours as they are unique to the event.

We also recommend taking a look at Disney’s dress code guidelines because dressing up is encouraged but there are guidelines in place for various age groups and they are enforced.
