There is so much coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World this summer. The parks are going to be jam packed with fun!... and most likely with people. Let's jump into some of the things returning and coming to theme parks summer 2022.
Animal Kingdom
Disney
Not new but still fun, we love Kite Tails at Animal Kingdom and enjoy stopping to watch this fun experience when we visit the park. It will be sticking around through the summer as will the character flotillas with some of our favorite characters!

You’ll see Nova Prime in the new Wonders of Xandar “other-world” pavilion at EPCOT, which the Xandarians are currently constructing in the park’s newly renamed World Discovery neighborhood. It’s here you’ll learn more about Xandarians and their advanced technologies, which they’re bringing to us here on Earth – or Terra, as they call our planet.
The longest running festival at Disney, The 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival kicks off on July 14. The event will run through November 19. The fest will include amazing food, wine of course, drinks, merchandise, entertainment and more! The Eat to the Beat concernt series will return. This festival fave has not been around since 2019! The Remy Scavenger hunt will also return.

Disneyland
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” recently won the Academy Award for best animated feature at this year’s Oscars, and a new sing-along version of the film is streaming on Disney+!
Beginning April 11, the façade of “it’s a small world” will be taken over with a brief visual montage that pays tribute to the movie’s hit song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” This musical delight comes to life through projection and lighting effects and an artistic style inspired by the lyrics, with select moments that feature characters from the film. Like the Madrigal family’s Casita, tiles across the “it’s a small world” façade flip, turn, and rearrange themselves as one scene transitions to the next, culminating in a celebratory chorus and a nod to Bruno’s mysterious prophecy about Mirabel.
Disney
During the day, you can also visit with Mirabel, the young hero from the film, at Frontierland’s Zocalo Park in a colorful photo location that pays homage to the Madrigal family from Colombia.
Starting April 22, “Main Street Electrical Parade” returns (once again) to Disneyland park. The parade will conclude with a brand new finale.
