New Treats and Returning Favorites to 2021 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

We are so excited for the 2021 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. This year's festival has more kitchens than ever opening up halfway through the fest and we are excited for both.

7/13/21

The festival will run from July 15 through November 20. This means you have 129 days to take advantage of this incredible foodie extravaganza.

One of our top tips for any Epcot festival is to bring your own silverware. That's right. Tasting your way around the world can really use up that plasticware. Disney offers similar travel cutlery sets but these on Amazon are less expensive and amazing quality. Definitely recommend. We hook them to our backpack and clean them off in our resort each night for the next day.

But! First things first, we have to cover what's opening on opening day before we get too carried away. Let's check out some of the new items and returning favorites coming to the fest this year.

New Tastes

There are a ton of new items we are excited to try from returning kitchens and of course returning favorites.

Here are a few of the NEW items we can't wait to sample from returning kitchens. These dishes really tempted our tastebuds.

Greece has the Griddled Cheese with Pistachios and Honey. So... it's basically a block of delicous melty cheese. Yep. We're on board with that. This is part of Emile’s Fromage Montage.

Your whole family will enjoy Emile’s Fromage Montage, featuring a variety of delicious cheeses served in inventive ways.

Purchase any 5 cheese dishes from select Global Marketplaces listed in the Festival Passport and be sure to collect a stamp for each purchased dish.

Once you’ve collected all 5 stamps, bring the stamped Festival Passport to Shimmering Sips for a specialty prize unique to Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

We haven't always been a fan of the poutine over at Refreshment Port but this year's festival offering sounds pretty darn good. This year they have a Braised Beef Poutine: French Fries, Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese Sauce, Cheese Curds, and Gherkin Relish. We'll give it a try.

Hawaii Tuna Poke with Eel Sauce, Spicy Mayonnaise, and Crispy Shrimp Chips is a new and interesting dish in Hawaii that is absolutely going on our list.

Mexico is always a hit and this year they have a new Taco de Ribeye: Shaved Ribeye, Red Onions, and Poblano Peppers on a Corn Tortilla with Ranchera Salsa, Cotija Cheese, and Chives. Pair that with the El Tigre Margarita: Ojo de Tigre Mezcal with Pomegranate, Prickly Pear, Pineapple, and Ginger Juices served on the rocks with a Hibiscus Salt Rim.

Japan has an interesting new dish this year that we can't wait to try. Tempura Shrimp Sando: Crunchy Shrimp served with Yuzu Crab, Green Onions, and Eel Sauce served on a Bun. They also have Spicy Hako Sushi: Spicy Tuna and Salmon served Box-style with Red Tempura Crunch and Volcano Sauce. We love us some sushi so can't wait to try this new item.

Over at the China kitchen they have a new Bao bun this year and we are really excited about it. Two years back, the bao bun offering was one of our favorite things at the festival. This year we have a ZiRan Beef Bao Bun: Grilled Beef with Cumin. Sounds awesome.

Each year has a funnel cake that is special just for the festival and this year is no exception. We have the Mini Candied Bacon S’mores Funnel Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. We are a sucker for all things s'more and this is no exception. This might actually be a returning item from last year but we didn't try it so it's new to us and definitely going on the list.

There is a returning item in France that we can't wait to get to in a minute but one returning item is the Crème Brûlée au Grand Mariner: Vanilla Crème Brûlée with Grand Marnier Liqueur. This lactose intolerent girl loves her some creme brulee and I can't wait to sink my spoon into this one. Side note: if you are at all lactose sensitive Lactaid pills are a must for any Disney trip and especially at Food and Wine Festival.

Returning Faves

Ireland is always a hit and this year looks to be no exception. Fisherman’s Seafood Pie and the Warm Chocolate Pudding Cake with Irish Cream Liqueur Custard. And oh yes we plan on washing it down with one (probably more) of the Guinness Baileys Shakes. This is one of our top faves every single year.

We love the Shimmering Sips kitchen and we are a definite sucker for the Tropical Mimosa. This is sparkling wine or prosecco and the Disney fan favorite POG juice, Passion fruit Orange and Guava juice! Tell me that doesn't sound divine!

We think if Disney were to ever take these two dishes from the Canada kitchen off the menu, there would probably be a revolt. The fan favorite Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup served with a Pretzel Roll and the “Le Cellier” Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle-Butter Sauce are both back and you can bet we'll be getting them.

Over in Spain we are excited for the return of the Seafood Salad with Shrimp, Bay Scallops, Mussels, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Balsamic Vinegar, and Smoked Paprika. This is a great summer dish.

Hawai sees the return of my all-time favorite dish from Food and Wine! The Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts (Emile’s Fromage Montage). If you love cheesecake and Passion Fruit, you need this in your life.

Flavors From Fire is back with some amazing returning favorites. The Corned Beef Corner Route: Smoked Corned Beef with Crispy Potatoes, Cheese Curds, Pickled Onions, and Beer-Cheese Fondue (Emile’s Fromage Montage), The Chimichurri-up Offense: Charred Chimichurri Steak on a Smoked Corn Cake with Pickled Vegetable Slaw and Cilantro Aïoli and The S’mores Whoopie Pie-lon: Smoked Chocolate Cake, Graham Cracker, Marshmallow, Chocolate Ganache, and Candied Bacon. This is a must-stop for sure. Every year Flavors From Fire brings the deliciousness to the table and we keep coming back for more.

France has some amazing rich tastes and this year they are bringing back the Croissant aux Escargots: Escargot Croissant with Garlic and Parsley. This was missing from the festival last year but we are really excited that it is back this year. We are also excited to see the return of one of our favorite slushies. La Passion Martini Slushy: Vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, Cranberry, and Passion Fruit Juice is back and we're sure it's better than ever. We also really want to try the Rosé Pétillant Méthode Traditionnelle Champenoise. I've actually tried this previously just not at the festival and it's a strong fruit forward sparkling blend of Ugni blanc and Syrah. The rose is made usng the traditional french champagne method from France. It's a very light, dry and delicious sparkling option that will pair perfectly with the Escargot and the creme brulee.

Japan, as we mentioned above has a great new dish and a returning favorite. We love the Bao buns at the festival and this year we have the Teriyaki Chicken Bun: Steamed Bun filled with Chicken, Vegetables, and Teriyaki Sauce.
